ARD IS LOOKING FOR NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Ariel Rivka Dance (ARD) is an all-female contemporary dance company based in New Jersey led by Artistic Director Ariel Grossman, they create a space for open-hearted movement collaborations rooted in women’s experiences. Through live performances, global touring, and workshops for all ages and experiences, the company transcends the stage by exploring individual stories that connect to the broader community.Through movement, ARD creates a community of vulnerability and acceptance, providing opportunities for hope and connection.

Description:

Ariel Rivka Dance, a NJ-based dance company with a decade of national and global touring experience, seeks new Board members to join our dynamic and growing company. Recently, we've toured to Rwanda, Portugal, and Corsica and are expanding our touring to other countries in 2025. Even with many exciting international events, our focus remains on cultivating opportunities and community in the NJ and NY region. We're looking for NJ-based Board members who can help grow our base in the area and point us toward local organizations and people who'd be interested in our performances and educational workshops for all skills and abilities.   • Board Dues

    • $3000 annually in unrestricted funds

    • Dues are assessed each Fiscal Year (Jan 1 to Dec 31)

    • Dues do not include:

      • Hours given or services rendered

      • Underwriting of specific expenses

      • Tickets purchased to ARD Events at the standard ticket price

  • Community Outreach:  Board members will make every effort to participate in fundraising campaigns, and promote ARD causes and events via personal social networks.

  • Event Attendance:  Board members will attend all Ariel Rivka Dance Galas and Fundraising events whenever possible, and are responsible for purchasing tickets. Board members will also make every effort to attend as many ARD performances as possible, particularly in the New York area (at least one performance of every season plus any smaller performances for which members are available).Board members are charged with guiding and promoting audience expansion and recruitment.

  • Meeting Attendance: Board members will attend all Board Meetings as scheduled according to member availability.  Current Board members are encouraged to seek out potential new Board members and to introduce them to the company.

  • Services and Event Coordination: Board members will provide job-related services to the company whenever possible. Board members will participate in the organization and planning of at least one company fundraising event annually.
